Jose Guillen had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Wrigley Field where the San Antonio
Alamos beat the Bartonville Bombers in 11 innings by the score of 9 to
8.
The score was knotted at 8 after nine innings. San Antonio came out the
victor in the 11th inning. Carlos Guillen laced a single. Mitchell Boggs
then picked Pierre off first base. Jason Bay then tripled. Miguel Montero
stepped in and he reached on an error. San Antonio totaled 15 hits on the
afternoon.
The victory was credited to Brad Thomas(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no
runs. Carlos Marmol earned the save, his 17th. Boggs(1-1) was tagged with
the loss in relief. He was a hard-luck loser, pitching 1 inning and not
allowing an earned run.
