Nassau finishes season

the Nassau G-Men finished the 2010 TBA season at a less than stellar 59-103, only waiting for Halifax to finish their schedule to see if they rate the 1st or 2nd overall pick in the 2011 draft ... there were some bright spots for Nassau despite their abysmal record ... Mark Reynolds finished the season with 52 HR's to go along with 111 RBI's to clearly be the G-Men's offensive MVP ... also notable were Casey McGehee's 26 HR's and 70 RBI's to go along with a .333 Avg and Gerrardo Parra's .303 Avg, as well as Franklin Guiterriez riding a hot Sept to a finish with a .290 Avg ... on the pitching side late season acquisition Zack Greinke finished up at 6-2 with a 2.15 ERA ...notable also was Matt Thornton with a 2.44 ERA out of the pen and Erik Bedard finishing with a 2.93 ERA despite a 3-7 record ... rookie Rick Porcello lead the the team with 10 wins to go along with 13 losses and a robust 5.64 ERA ... the future is uncertain as Nassau looks ahead to 2011 with a starting 3 of Greinke, Cole Hamels and Hiroki Kuroda to go along with closer Rafael Soriano but a plethora of holes on offense ... with an early 1st round pick GM Steve Garafalo looks to add some pop to the G-Men lineup or possibly trade the pick to recoup the 2nd rd pick traded to Kansas City in the Greinke deal ... either way the Nassau management has a long way to go to turn this team into a contender ... only time and the off-season will tell

  1. At least you know some offensive help should be on the way with that #2 pick!
