Story First Appeared on TBA Website 9/10
While the Booze Hounds knew in mid-August they would be playing next month, Oahu, London, and Edgewater are now all set to join them.
However, all still have an incentive to play well until then. Why? To avoid that last wild card spot and a date with Washington in the first round.
No one wants to have to deal with the Booze Hounds right away. They have just dominated all season long, winning a record 109 games already with 18 games left to go! Looking through their roster it is hard to find a weak spot, or even one player you would rather pitch to over another.
But a short series might be easier to take them out. If Washington's pitchers struggle in games 1 and 2, Washington is all of sudden looking up. A fluke win early might also do the trick to get in the drivers seat over Washington, a place they have been in since April 11th.
Right now Edgewater is in that 4th playoff spot and is looking at Washington in the first round. They are still only 4.5 games out of winning the division and home field in the first round so anything can still happen between these three teams. Add in 11 games between Washington and London in this final month and London could be looking at the Booze Hounds right away next month.
