A look at the Booze Hounds' depth chart:
C: Mauer
1B: Teixeira
2B: Cano
SS: Tulowitzki
3B: R. Zimmerman
LF: Willingham / Headley
CF: Ellsbury
RF: Carlos Gonzalez / Willingham
Bench: B. Wood, Alberto Gonzalez, G. Kapler, R. Santiago, Dukes
SP: Vazquez, Lilly, Wainright, Nolasco, Scherzer
SP/RP Swing Pitcher: J. Sanchez
Bullpen: Marmol, Breslow, C. Perez, Morrow
Others: E. Santana, I. Kennedy, Samardzija
IR: Sheets
The starting line-up and rotation look set barring the acquisition of another outfielder. The bullpen needs some work, and Washington has some difficult "keeper" decisions ahead. Do they go with prospects like B. Wood, Samardzija, and Kennedy; or do they go for platoon players like Kapler and Gonzalez, or do they hold players looking to rebound in 2010 like Dukes, E. Santana, and Sheets?

Your infield is absolutely loaded. Four 1s and a 2? Nasty.
ReplyDeleteYour pitching should be great, too. Nice mixture of young guys and veterans to balance the right now and the future. Vasquez won't be as good next year moving to YS and the AL East, but he'll give you one heck of a year this year.
Yeah excellent pitching staff. The keepers here will be interesting as you have a decent amount of prospects that won't help you this year but could bounce back. I'm guessing they will end up being traded/cut as this team looks like championship contenders to me
