Scallops Lead Thins as the Dog Days Drag On

Stonington has seen its division lead, which was once up to five games, dwindle to 2 1/2 games as August begins. To bolster a depleted starting rotation the Scallops have added Cy Young Winner Brandon Webb to a rotation that features another Cy Young Winner, Cliff Lee. In addition to this potent one-two combo, the Scallops offense boasts one of the league's best hitters in Kevin Youkilis. The Youk is batting .344 with 31 homeruns and 90 rbi's with two months to go in the season and is garnering serious consideration for the TBA MVP trophy.
