The San Antonio Alamos edged the Loves Park Lemmings at Fenway Park by the
score of 6 to 5.

Andy Pettitte(5-8) delivered a fine performance for San Antonio. He allowed 6
hits and 2 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings and served up 2 'big flies'. Loves
Park made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed
runs across.

Eddie Guardado earned the save, his 1st. Brian Bannister(6-6) was the losing
pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 3 walks
in 4 innings.

Michael Johnson was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one,
we just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'

Hawpe Traded to San Antonio

Dateline San Antonio:

At around 9:15pm EST the Alamos and Beavers have agreed to the 1st trade in
their short team histories. RF Brad Hawpe is coming over to San Antonio in
exchange for OF Marlon Byrd and their 2010 2nd round draft pick. Heading into
July (block 4), Hawpe, 29, was hitting .246 with 9 HR and 30 RBI. Byrd, 30, was
hitting .259 with 2 HR and 24 RBI in 64 games played.

Alamos owner John Garcia welcomed Hawpe to the team in a press conference
earlier this evening. "We are excited to have a player of Hawpe's caliber here
in San Antonio. He will fit in well with Kinsler, Bay, and Drew in the middle of
the order. He should be a key member in getting us into the playoffs this season
and in the years ahead."
