Orlando Hudson had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Stonington Scallops topped the
ice-cold Las Vegas Coyotes by a score of 5 to 4 at Chase Field.
The deciding run was scored by Stonington in the top of the 9th. After two
outs Corey Hart cracked a solo homerun (his 2nd of the season). Curtis
Granderson stepped up next and he doubled. Las Vegas went down without a
fight in the bottom of the 9th.
Brian Fuentes(2-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. The
losing pitcher was Jonathan Papelbon(0-3) in relief. With this win,
Stonington has a 32-29 record. They have been 5-5 lately. Las Vegas
continued their losing ways and their record is now 21-29, worst in the
division. They are 0-10 in their last ten games.
