At Fenway Park, the San Antonio fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Josh
Beckett(5-4) finally bested his San Antonio opposite, A.J. Burnett(5-4), by
the score of 3 to 1.
Mt. Sinai had the game winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 3 base hits. Micah Hoffpauir led off and started the rally when he
lined a one-base hit. David Wright followed and he doubled. David Ortiz
then drew a walk to load the bases. Fernando Tatis was next to the plate,
but was promptly struck out. Adam Laroche came to the plate and slapped a
base-hit. Laroche took second on the throw. Dioner Navarro continued the
rally and drew a walk. Stephen Drew struck out, unable to help the rally.
Mt. Sinai out-hit San Antonio for the game, 10 hits to 7.
Beckett got relief help from Joe Nathan who gained credit for his 11th save.
Burnett was charged with the loss. He struck out 10 batters in 7 innings
despite losing the game.
